  • COVID PROTOCOL AS OF
    MARCH 7, 2022

    As of March 7, 2022, Governor Murphy has lifted the mask mandate for schools and has asked each school/district to make a decision on how to proceed.  The following is the revised Sisters Academy guidance that will take effect on Monday, March 7, 2022.

    MASKS:

    1. Masks must be worn by all UNVACCINATED individuals in the building.
    2. If you are FULLY vaccinated and provide the school with a copy of your vaccine card, a mask does not need to be worn.
      • Vaccinated students are more than welcome to continue to wear a mask if that is what they are comfortable with.
      • In order for sisters Academy to consider a student vaccinated, we MUST have a copy of your vaccine record in our files.
      • As the year progresses your mask status can change if and when you get vaccinated.

    OUTBREAKS:

    Sisters Academy reserves the right to return to masking of all community members if there is an outbreak in the school, or the community of Monmouth County's CALI rating is HIGH.

    We also may decide to place certain cohorts on a remote learning program to contain any additional spread.

    CLASSROOMS:

     In our continued effort to maintain the healthiest environment the following precautions will continue to take place:

    1. All touch services will be wiped down with a disinfectant wipe designed to reduce if not eliminate the COVID-19 germ, at the conclusioin of each class prior to the next class entering the classroom for their class.
    2. We will continue to use our electro-magnetic sprayer each morning on all school surfaces prior to teachers and student arrival.
    3. All students will be required to wash/disinfect their hands prior to entering a classroom.
    4. All air purifiers will be on from 7:30am until 4:00pm in every room being used that day.
    5. We will continue to test for COVID weekly at the Academy.  We highly recommend that if you have not given your daughter consent to do this that you contact the office so we can set her up to be tested weekly.

    REASONS TO RETURN TO MASK WEARING AT SISTERS ACADEMY:

    Based on the NJ Department of Health's guidance we will return to mask wearing the the following situations:

    • If we have an active outbreak in the building;
    • If a student has had to quarantine or isolate the student will wear a mask for a minimum of 10 days upon their return;
    • If a student starts to feel ill in school she will be given a mask to wear;
    • If the NJ Department of Health CALI Score puts Monmouth County in Very High and possibly the High transmission rates.

    ISOLATION: (you are experiencing symptoms):

    You should begin to isolate and start counting on the date of your positive COVID test or the first day symptoms appeared.  If you start out with no symptoms, but get symptoms within a ten day period, begin the 5 day count again.  The date of the first symptom is your new day 0.

    If you develop a fever, do not attend school until the fever is gone and symptoms are improving.  You may return to normal activities if your fever is gone and symptoms are improving.

    QUARANTINE (if you have come in contact with a person with COVID):

    If you are over 12 years old and did not get a booster YOU MUST QUARANTINE:

    • The day you were exposed is Day 0
    • On Day 5 you should take a test
    • On Day 6, if you have no symptoms and proof of a negative test, you may return to school but must return with a mask until Day 11
    • If you have symptoms or test positive that is Day 0 of isolation

    NO QUARANTINE IS NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS:

    1. If you are under 12 and have completed your primary series of vaccines you do not need to quarantine.
    2. If you are 12 or older and have your primary series of vaccines and the recommended boosters you do not need to quarantine.
    3. If you had a CONFIRMED case of COVID within the last 90 days.

    Please contact the office at Sisters Academy if you have any questions:  732-774-9056
