THE PROGRAM overview...
Sisters Academy is a successful educational model designed specifically to assist children in urban environments break out of the cycle of poverty through education.
The Academy offers small class sizes – no more that sixteen students per grade, to ensure an individual learning environment. The Academy also has an extended day and an eleven-month school year.
The learning environment in the Academy is based on a community experience of mutual respect between teachers and students. The extended school day includes two meals, academics, artistic and athletic experiences, group and individual counseling, team building and leadership training.
The Academy is staffed by professional educators and qualified, professional and highly motivated volunteers who model positive moral values and work together to help students grow into confident, successful adults.
The Academy also encourages its graduates to return to share their gifts by helping other students in the Academy or by offering assistance in the community in order to give to others what they once received.
